Workflow Connections
The workflow connections are linked to the inputs and outputs of each operations. Inputs describe how to perform the operation and can include a file, a drawning, or a procedure. Workflows can be reproduced in identical form if the inputs are kept the same, and inputs are typically set before any production takes places. Outputs detail the outcome of an operation, which may include a picture, a dataset, or an element from a collection. Outputs are unique to each workflows.

Narratio integrates multiple data collections. These inputs and outputs may be reused over time, by simply pointing to data when populating the workflows without modifying content of the collection. This is an efficient method of ensuring that the right information is communicated to your team.
Input Connectors
Document Collection
Narratio holds design documents, so that communicating the latest drawings or documents to an operation is easily documented. Specific instructions, drawings, or cutting programs can be stored in the repository so that you can simply point to a revision in an operation. These documents are then delivered to the operator avoiding any risk of using a wrong document or an older revision.

Procedure Collection
Narratio systematically exposes your work procedures to your operator to facilitate access to references. These work instruction can also be used to highlight acceptance criteria and operational risks associated with an operation.

Customer Property Collection
Isolate customer-specific requirements and ensure they are met throughout the production process. This includes tracking customer preferences, special instructions, and any other relevant information that may impact the operation.

Controlled Substances
Document your controlled substances to ensure compliance with regulations and safety protocols. Identify hazards and precautions codes, and define specific prevention, response, disposal and storage instructions. Maintain MSDS in multiple languages to accommodate all operators.

Output Connectors
Inventory Collection
This inventory tracks materials across operations. Cutting, mixing, assembling, shipping, packing affect the content of the inventory. Narratio automatically updates the inventory (e.g. quantity, mass, location) based on content used, giving you a real-time state of the inventory as your workflows advances through production.
Create new entries directly from operations, giving you full traceability back to the moment when the new item was created and the original stock materials used. Narratio will automatically create the full material hierarchy from assemblies, mixing and combining inventories.

Equipment Collection
Identify equipment being used for completing an operation, as know which machine was used for an operation and machine use rate. Use this information to demonstrate that machine are in proper operation conditions.

Measuring Device
Record which measuring tools were used for an operation and ensure that the measuring device is correctly calibrated and maintained.

Non-Conformances
Raise a non-conformance from non-conforming operations to document the issue and initiate a resolution process. Stop further processing of the affected work-in-progress until the issue is resolved. Track the status of the non-conformance and ensure that appropriate actions are taken to address it.

Operation Connection
Team
For each operation, assign an owner from your team with the authorization to complete the work. Narratio will push this particular operation to the homepage of the owner and carry the information defined in the inputs. Upon completing the operation, the operation is able to provide output information as required.

Life Cycle Assessment
Natively integrates a bottom-up life-cycle assessment based on the workflow. Each operation is characterized by a set of life-cycle inputs (i.e., resources consumed) and outputs (i.e. transformed products). Narratio contains a catalogue of life-cycle inventories for common manufacturing operations and materials.

The life cycle assessment of a workflow is computed by assigning a reference flow to each operation and aggregrating the life-cycle inventories of all the operations.
This life-cycle analysis tool can plot the contribution of each operation to the total life cycle assessment in terms of the life-cycle inventory.
